A Midwest Family Portrait Session

Each year, I try to head home for at least one visit. I generally look at this trip as a vacation, even though the trip home usually consists of nothing I would normally do on vacation with activities almost exclusively being hanging out with friends and family and eating too much food (actually, I do that one when on vacation, too). Even though I’m not technically working, I always bring my camera just in case and usually end up squeezing in at least one portrait session.

For three years running (give or take), I have squeezed in a quick family photo shoot for my aunt, uncle, and cousin in my grandparents’ yard. This year, we really only had one quick time slot when we were all free and could make it happen. It’s fun to see the progression of photos each year and now that we’ve had to use the same location three years in a row, it’s kind of fun to see how that location varies depending on the weather, too.
